The climb to Mera peak is gradually becoming popular among trekkers and novice climbers. This journey gives you the feeling of hiking and climbing on snow and experiencing trekking in a remote part of the Khumbu region. Mera peak (6654 m) is the highest of Nepal’s permitted trekking peaks. It rises to the south of Everest and dominates the watershed between the heavily wooded valleys of the Hinku and Hongu Drangkas. There are many routes to Mera peak, but none of them is easy. Part of the route traverses through difficult passes and the arduous climb then becomes a true mountaineering experience. The end of the journey, however, is worth all the effort: as Mera is definitely one of the finest viewpoints in Nepal.
