Annapurna Base Camp Trekking 11 Days

Annapurna Sanctuary is a perfect getaway for embracing nature’s true form and serenity. A place where a normal being feels the exhilarating experience in the Annapurna Mountain Ranges is truly a lifetime experience. The Annapurna base camp trek is famous for its trial along which the trekkers are lead to the Annapurna Base Camp from where the climbers ascend to Mt. Annapurna (8091m). The views of the Annapurna’s are seriously spectacular including the Mt. Machapuchhre (6993m) also known as Fishtail Mountain.

Destination:- Kathmandu-Pokhara-Nayapul-Tikhedunga-Ghorepani-Tadapani-Chhomorong-Himalaya-Macchapuchre Base Camp- Annapurna Base Camp- Bamboo- Nayapul- Pokhara-Kathmandu

 

Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (820 m)

We will be heading to Pokhara by drive. It will take around 5-6 hours (200km) if we drive. We will be following the Prithivi highway along side of the Trisuli River. One can observe scenic views during the drive including the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. Lunch spot will be on the way to Pokhara.
Pokhara is one of the most beautiful cities of the whole nation. In the lap of Annapurna Himalayas and the iconic Machapuchhre (Mt. Fishtail), that reflects upon the water of the infamous Phewa Lake, this city truly exists to provide an awesome and lifetime experience.
We will be staying in Pokhara and prepare ourselves for the trek that starts the following day.

Day 2: Drive to Nayapul (1070 m) & trek to Tikhedhunga (1540 m)

We will have an early morning drive to Nayapul from where our trekking starts, it will take around 1-1.5 hours to get there (42km). The trek from here to Tikhedhunga takes about 4-5 hours. Along the trial we will pass villages like Birethanti and Hile. You can observe the natural beauties along with very authentic cultural lifestyle of the people in that place. The trail is shared by the pony caravans which are the primary way of transporting goods and material to the higher places.
We will be staying at Tikhedhunga at Teahouse Lodge.

Day 3: Trek to Ghorepani (2860 m)

After breakfast we will start our trek towards Ghorepani. The trial starts getting more beautiful and adventures. We will pass through numerous suspension bridges and small villages along the way. After crossing the bridges the trial gets little bit steep till large magar village called Ulleri (2070m). During this climb Magnificent Annapurna South (7219m) and Mt. Fishtail (6997m) can be seen. This trial is filled with snow in winter season which add up more scenic views. It will take around 5-6 hours walk to reach Ghorepani form Tikhedhunga.
The lunch will be served at Nangethanti which also means rest house.
We stay in Ghorepani at teahouse Lodge.

 

Day 4: Early morning at 5 AM trek to Poonhill (3210 m) for sunrise view & back to Hotel. After breakfast trek to Tadapani (2630 m)

The sunrise seen from Poonhill is breathtaking so we hike up to the top (3210m) around 1.5 hours early in the morning to observe the sunrise. On a clear day one can observe mountains like Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.The sunrise is also very spectacular and mesmerizing. The Mount Fishtail along with other mountains shines and sparkles as the sunlight rays hits it.
After viewing the sunrise we hike back to Ghorepani for breakfast and get ready for our next destination i.e. Tadapani.
Tadapani (2630m) is the main stopping point for trekkers between Ghorepani and Chhomrung. The trek starts with a short climb till Deurali. The trial passes through pine forest with occasional view of Annapurna South. The trial will then lower down till we reach Banthati and then to Ghorepani.
This takes around 5 hours to reach Tadapani.

We will stay at a teahouse lodge in Tadapani.

Day 5: Trek to Chhomrong (2170 m)
After breakfast we leave Tadapani to reach Chhomrong, the trail descends and meets up to Tibuje Khola crossing both Chuile and Siprong pass. We will reach Chhomrong after walking for about 5-6 hours.
We will be staying at a teahouse lodge in Tadapani.

Day 6: Trek to Himalaya (2920 m)

We start our trek a bit early this day as we have a long distance to travel. It usually takes around 6-7 hours to reach Himalaya. The trial offers beautiful views of the Annapurna Sanctuary. The trial passes through a long suspension bridge and goes through dense bamboo, pine, oak and rhododendron forest dotted with ferns. The trial is a bit harder as compared to previous walk as it is further steeper. But you will have no difficulties if you walk in your own speed and enjoy the views of Mt. Fishtail.
We will be staying at teahouse lodge in Himalaya.

Day 7: Trek to Machapuchhre base Camp(3700m)

The track remains on the west bank of the Modi, now flowing through a more open valley, and eventually emerges into the sanctuary. Straight ahead is the high lateral moraine of the South Annapurna Glacier and the Modi follows a deep cliff to the right. This is the site of Machapuchhre base camp from which can be seen a spectacular panorama of mountains. Overnight at teahouse lodge.

Day 8: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4130 m)

It takes around 6-7 hours to get to Annapurna Base Camp passing via Machapuchhre base Camp. You will be definitely amazed by the views seen in this trial. The Machapuchhre seems so close. Walking up the bed of the glacier is safe and quite easy and the British Expedition Base Camp is reached after another 1 and ½ a hr. Base Camp is at 4, 237 m. The trip is best done from the lower camp, carrying only lunch, and the best views are probably obtained from to the north.
We will be staying at Annapurna Base Camp at Teahouse Lodge or Tented Camp.

Day 9: Trek to Bamboo (2310 m)
We will start our morning by climbing to the view point spot form where we can see sunrise at the Annapurna’s. The track remains on the west bank of Modi River. After the sunrise hike, we will return to our camp for breakfast and will return say way to bamboo. Overnight at teahouse lodge.

Day 10: Trek to Nayapul and drive back to Pokhara
We will be returning to Nayapul where our vehicles will be waiting for us. Then we drive to Pokhara and will be staying at Pokhara that night. Overnight at hotel in Pokhara.

Day 11: Drive back to Kathmandu
After breakfast we drive back to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
